Daimler of Coventry 1896 - 1966 book - Potteries Motor Traction (PMT) Daimler Roadliner 6000 EH, 1960s
In 1966 Daimler Transport Vehicles of Coventry produced a lavish book to celebrate 70 years afloat. The book looks at the company's various models and operators who bought and used Daimler buses and coaches. The book is a devil to scan/photograph as it is a plastic cover and binding so apologies for the quality of the images.
In general Daimler's chassis were very highly regarded - and I won't get drawn into the debate about London Transport's experiences with them as I grew up with the world's biggest Daimler fleet of Birmingham City Transport! - but a less successful foray was the Roadliner, a part of a 1960s attempt towards single-deck 'standee buses' that included the AEC Swift/Merlin family - enough said.
PMT ran in the north Staffordshire area and here is seen, in a posed shot, their Marshalls bodied Roadliner 6000 EH.
