Alexander Kenyon & Sons of Manchester - road works equipment advert, 1950
As a child roadworks fascinated me, and indeed as a four year old I spent a happy summer holidays 'adopted' by a road repair gang in Rochdale who made me cups of navvies tea I drank from a billy can watching them resurface the road! Kenyon's of Manchester supplied the equipment needed for road works such as the 'stop and go' boards, and the lovely red paraffin 'danger' lamps - I recall them with the name "Kenyon's" stamped on the top cover!
