B1421 Upminster - old UK road sign direction panel
A rather lovely example of the old style UK road signs this - I strongly suspect it is simply a directional description panel off a full sign as many were made "in parts" with arrows and other common components rivetted to the main panel but I do like the lettering and numerals that date back tot he 1950s and early 1960s before the signs system was altered to the current version. Upminster is to the east of London in Essex.
