A jolly, and well produced handbook to the "healthgiving springs and entertainment" of the historic city of Bath and produced by the City Council's Spa Committee. It is not dated but by the style of publication, and the cropped use of Dora Batty's 1935 poster for the Great Western Railway who served the city, it is mid-late 1930s. It is intended to sell the many attraction of the city to tourists and visitors.
Essex born Dora M. Batty (1891 - 1966) was a noted artist, designer and teacher who produced many posters for the Underground Group and London Transport in the inter-war years. This cover has a suitably modern Georgian look about it with lines on the scroll from the King's Bath Pump.
