Oxford, England's premier touring centre : guide book issued by the City of Oxford Motor Services Ltd. : British Publishing Co. Ltd. : Gloucester : nd [c.1935]

Many British bus and motor coach operators issued guide or handbooks during the inter-war periods, designed to describe their services, attractions and excursions. This, published by the British Publishing Company Limited of Gloucester, was issued on behalf of the City of Oxford Motor Services Limited.

The company had adopted this title in 1921 having made the switch from tramway operations in Oxford and to reflect the growing network of motor bus routes. A subsidiary of the British Electric Traction (BET) group, a major conglomerate, from the early 1930s onwards like many 'bus companies, the mainline railways had a stake; in this case as the cover notes it was an 'association' with the Great Western Railway. The guide books describes both Oxford and its University as well as the numerous day motor coach excursions that they ran across the South Midlands and Southern England.
