Schofield's Golden Jubilee 1901 - 1951 : booklet published by Schofield's of Leeds, West Yorkshire

For most of the twentieth century the name of Schofields, the department store in Leeds, was synonymous with quality . Founded in 1901 the store was independent until a series of property deals and an eventual sale to House of Fraser sealed its fate and the Headrow store closed in 1996 and the name, in time, even vanished from the shopping centre that the rebuilt store had formed part of.

In happier times the store celebrated it's Golden Jubilee in 1951 and published a booklet to celebrate the event and charting the history from a single shop unit by Snowden Schofield to a fashionable department store. The graphics, of twin banners, are very suitably 'Festival of Britain' in style.
