The folder issued in July 1956 that gives details of the services of the Malayan Railway that included the 'main line' from Penang to Singapore via Kuala Lumpur and Gemas, the East Coast line from Gemas to Tumpat, services to Padang Besar and of the various branch lines that still operated at the time.
This side of the sheet shows the main 'west coast' route that still ran through to Singapore via Johore Bahru (Johor Bahru), Gemas, Kuala Lumpur and Ipoh, Taiping, Bukit Mertajam, Prai and via railway launch to Penang. Also shown are the connecting services north of Penang to Alor Star (Alor Setar) and Padang Besar that also saw international services through to Thailand.
