One of a long running series of adverts issued by Hovis, the millers and flour producers, for their 'branded' wholemeal bread and that were often based on the "and Hovis for " strapline. This, appearing in a trade journal relating to Artist Partners Ltd of London who were agents for a range of artists and illustrators, is by the artist Charles Oates and is typical of the mid-1950s. It would have appeared in colour magazines.
