What a splendid name! Mind, in the 1930s a gay adventure meant something absolutely ripping old chum - not the sort of connotation you could put to it now! I love the fact that after September Evening Dress is requested - no sign of when the start of not requiring it was - and the fact that it was advertised in an age when 'motoring down from London' down the Portsmouth Road was the done thing. That and the thought of Nannie Eyre in charge of cakes!
The building was. apparently, demolished for the Esher bypass - the Portsmouth Road obviously got it in the end.
