Ellar Ghyll Mill, Otley/Menston, West Yorkshire
The old mill that sits literally on what was the boundary between Otley and Menston (now Leeds and Bradford City Councils) and is slowly mouldering away. The mill appears to have been known as Higher Gill Mill at one point - there was a small string of mills running down this narrow, steep valley formed by the Gill Beck as it tumbles down towards the River Wharfe and that included Gill Mill, Middle Mill and the marvellously named Derrydiddle Mill. Latterly used as an engineering concern the chimney is still a distinctive feature at the side of the road.
