Graphis, published in Zurich by Amstutz & Herdeg, was considered to be one of the premier design and print journals of its time and the covers were commissioned from artists and designers from across the world.
Hoot von Zitzewitz (1927 - 1979) was a noted abstract painter and designer and worked for a wide range of major clients that included the US Air Force, Union Carbide, Shell Oil and Remington Rand. Latterly he also produced a small amout of cover art for sci-fi novels.
