Fry's Chocolate Crunchies - milk covered - 2d : 1930s point of sale price label
Fry's, founded in Bristol and another of the Quaker chocolate companies, were based at their 'new' factory at Somerdale in Somerset by this date and were already a subsidiary of the larger Birmingham based Cadbury's. An all too familiar tale in that the company would in time be subsumed into a multi-national and the Fry's name is now all but extinct as is their factory. This colourful and intentionally eye catching cardboard price label is for the now familiar 'Crunchie' honeycomb bar that was developed and launched by Fry's in 1929. "milk covered" refers to milk chocolate.
