London Transport - withdrawal of First Class services from the Underground, 1 February 1940
Under wartime pressure London Transport finally withdrew First Class travel from the Underground in 1940 - in effect it only directly affected the Metropolitan line (and its Pullman cars) - as noted services that were provided by other railways (such as the LNER) from the joint station at say Aylesbury were unaffected!
