British Transport Advertising rate cards 1962 - London Underground stations 16 sheet posters
A page from the very comprehensive 1962 BTA rate card booklet that covered London Transport's trains, road services and stations, British Railways trains and stations along with British Road Services, Scottish Transport Group vehicles and external solus sites.
Seen here are the platforms at St John's Wood station then on the Bakerloo line (now the Jubilee). London Transport always made much income from adverts and ran a tight ship when it came to locations and positioning enabling them to charge permium rates. Posters include products such as CWS bicules (then made by the Co-op's own works) and Olivetti Typewriters. The direction sign above the tiling for the Bakerloo Northbound Platform Two is also rather fine!
