Gold Bronzing for carton design - advert issued by Boxfoldia Ltd, Bournbrook, Birmingham - 1953
A 1953 advert issued by the Birmingham concern of Boxfoldia whose name was prominant in Bournbrook and I recall when we lived in Selly Oak many years ago. The company was founded by C H Foyle in 1920 to manufacture folding cartons. Foyle was quite a charitable benfactor to the city and apparently his brother was 'the' Foyle of Foyle's bookshop in London. The tipped in packet on the advert was for Dennison's, based in Watford, and makers of paper goods, stationery and packaging such as these reinforcements for holes punched in paper.
