Revo street lighting catalogue cover, 1964
Interestingly Revo were still, at this time, showing earlier fluorescent lanterns on the cover of the catalogue even though this particular version had been dropped by this time. Westminster City Council (whose Piccadilly installation is shown here) had been big buyers of Revo lighting - lanterns (now all gone) and columns (some of which still hang on in). That aside its a fine view of Swinging Sixties London - and the BMC rosette, here for Morris Vehicles, is noteworthy. Revo Electric were a longstanding manufacturer of street lamps and domestic appliances and were based in Tipton, Staffordshire.
