British Transport Commission "Transport Age" No.8, January 1959 - power signal box at London St. Pancras by Ian Ribbons
A fine view of the newly equipped power signal box at St. Pancras station, looking north across the Midland lines with the famous gas holders on the right to the east. This view has radically changed with the development of St Pancras as the International station for London. The illustration is by the artist Ian Ribbons whose paintings are now much sought after (I'm told) and it was reproduced by the BTC as the cover of the Transport Age magazine for January 1959. Harold Ian Ribbons, born 1924 in London, trained at Beckenham and the RCA and died in 2004.
