Autumn Comes to Cajon

Now that October is here, the daytime temperatures in the pass have begun to cool down and the nights are becoming colder as Autumn sets in.

 

I think it is interesting to look at the other images of Autumn posted here from around the country with the red leaves and Fall colors of the predominately deciduous forests, because for us out in here the desert, this is what Fall looks like.

 

In the image above, an empty Ethanol train lead by BNSF #7574 heads East up the Cajon Pass enroute to the corn growing areas of the Midwest, while a Union Pacific manifest train heads down the hill towards Los Angeles via the classification yard in East Colton California.

Appealed: - by pointing out that the focus point is in the center of the frame and the blurred part of the image on the train above is due to the diesel exhaust from the lower (BNSF) train.
