Interior of Tunnel 11 - [Gorge Ride 2017 Series]

Looking west thorough Tunnel 11 from the east portal.

 

Most of the tunnels on the desert line are still supported with 100 year old wooden timbers that were installed by the builders to hold up the mountains when the bores were made.

 

In some places such as the west end of Tunnel 8, the wooden timbers were replaced with metal frames and coated with shotcrete, however the majority of the underground route looks much like the example above.
