Trufas

yummy Mexican truffles, brought to me by a hummingbird, the messenger of good wishes :-)

The back of the box carried this version of the Mayan myth of the hummingbird:

>>Legend has it that in the beginning, gods created all things on earth. Each animal, tree or stone, was entrusted with a job. When they finished they realized that no one had been entrusted with carrying wishes and thoughts from one place to another. Since they no longer had mud or corn, they took a jade stone and carved a small arrow, blew on it, and the little arrow flew out. The gods had created the 'x ts'unu'um', the hummingbird.

The hummingbird was so fragile that it could approach the most delicate flowers without moving a single petal, and its feathers shone in the sun like raindrops and reflected all colors. Men tried to catch it to adorn themselves with its beautiful feathers, but the gods got angry and ordered, "If anyone catchet it, he will be punished." That is why no one has ever seen a hummingbird in a cage or in the hand of a man.

This, the beautiful little bird has been able to calmly carry out its work and carry the thoughts of men from here to there. Legend has it that if you come across this bird, it is because someone is sending you good wishes and love.

If a hummingbird flies around your head, don't touch it. He will take your wish and take it to others.<<
