Doric collumns at RHS Harlow Carr
A folly in the gardens. The collumns came from Harrogate's Royal Spa Concert Rooms that were demolished in 1939-40. They were in storage until 1961 when permission was given for them to be rebuilt at the newly created gardens at Harlow Carr.
The origninal intention was to create a 'Greek temple' but eventually it was decided (for practical and cost reasons) just to errect the collumns as an 'eye catcher' in the woodland gardens.
