"We have the best government that money can buy"

View of the Alberta Legislature Building from my office.
The Legislature Building was constructed between 1907 and 1913 and is situated on a bluff overlooking the North Saskatchewan River Valley close to the original site of Fort Edmonton.
Greek, Roman and Egyptian architectural influences were considered appropriate for public buildings because they portrayed power, permanence and tradition.
The Legislature's sandstone and terracotta dome was recently renovated at a cost of roughly $10 million.
