The walls of Karlstejn Castle

Every time I visit one of these medieval castles, I admire the architects and builders who constructed these magnificent structures that have been hugging and dominating the landscapes for centuries.

This was the destination of our beautiful bike ride through the forests surrounding this castle. We did not see the castle from a distance on this route so this is really just a litlle snippet of its grandiose architecture.
