IMG_0125_Jen's Bamboo Bike
A co-worker of mine, Jen, built this bike at the Bamboo Bike Studio (bamboobikestudio.useful-arts.com/) in San Francisco. This bicycle has a solid bamboo frame. It is not a bamboo-covered novelty bike. Users of the studio work with one of its craftsmen to build their own bikes, which seems like a great learning experience. This seems like the ultimate in green transportation. Bamboo is very much a renewable resource, and is strong and resilient. Bikes are available in single speed and multi-speed "kits."
I think this is a great idea that deserves to be show-cased.
