This glass beadwork on tanned leather American flag is on display at the Smithsonian Museum of the American Indian. It was created by Jenny Ann "Chapoose" Taylor, a member of the Uintah Ute Nation.
The "stars" are the two letter postal codes of all 50 states (apparently in chronological order). The blue field sports the Pledge of Allegiance and other things. The stripes incorporate the names of 456 Native American Nations.
Spectacular! I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work that went into making that.
