To get centred icons:

1 - Unlock the taskbar and enable the links toolbar.

 

2 - Drag the links over to where the icons should be and that will allow you to move the icons wherever you want.

 

3 - Position your Icons

 

4 - Delete the links and right click on the links text and uncheck "Show title".

 

5 - Lock the taskbar (optional) and enjoy!
