Toldeo OH Shipyards - April 1918
Photo taken by Charles Wagoner, possibly of his son Vern (Vernie) Wagoner. Both worked at the Toledo Ship Yards mostly "tapping" and "puttying." Their workdays were generally 9-1/2 hours long, and they were both paid 50 cents per hour (starting wages were 43 cents per hour). At the time this picture was taken, they were working on boat 146, though the boat in this photo is not identified. Photo probably taken on Friday April 5, 1918 (film was bought on Thu April 4 at drugstore on E. Broadway and processed photos received by Charles on Tues April 9). (Information from the diary of Charles Wagoner.)
