Blue and Amber Beaded Fringe Necklace on Satin Cord

Beautiful blue and amber faceted glass Picasso style beads fall in a fringe from a beaded bail on an electric blue satin rattail cord necklace.

I started this necklace with a bail made of matte finish bronze and gold iridescent delica beads that I wove into a tube using peyote stitch. I then added a fringe punctuated with bright blue and golden amber picasso style beads. The primary colors in the many colored beads on the fringe are bright blue and amber gold, with the addition of accents of red.

After completing the fringe, I threaded the bail and fringe onto a silky length of bright blue satin rat tail cord, which I capped with antique brass ends, and added an antique brass finished lobster claw clasp as the closure.

All the beads in this necklace are woven in by hand, and sturdy multi filament nymo thread was used throughout. The fringes are reinforced with extra passes of thread, and the weaving method used to create the tube shaped bail features multiple passes of thread through each bead.

The picasso beads used in the fringe are faceted glass in beautiful bright blues and golds - the colors in this necklace are reminiscent of both autumn foliage and the colors of the ocean.

Dimensions:

The overall length of this necklace is 16 inches (40.6 cm.)
