GUARDS MEMORIAL APRIL 2014
As usual, when in London, I went to visit the Guards Memorial. It always gets to me, but this time was even more memorable. Presumably something to do with the centenary of the outbreak of World War I, the metal wreaths/emblems were out of storage and placed on the step in front of the monument. The statues are featured on the Banshees' "Join Hands" LP cover, but there's a photo session from 1979 with the band standing at the monument, and these are the actual wreaths they're standing with! I have never seen these before and it made the visit even more affecting than usual.
