The bluegrass music attracts a different kind of performer, one who is a little older and enjoys the more mellow and dulcet tones of a music that was popular where they grew up. This could be an example of internalization, where these musicians grew up with bluegrass and country music and have since stuck to the norm they internalized long ago.
