Tachytes amazonus - Bent County CO - July 2016

Photographed on my dashboard at John Martin Reservoir. Tachytes wasps nest in sand, provisioning their nests with grasshoppers and katydids (and there was a true abundance of grasshoppers at John Martin this summer).
