EMU's 3030 030 & 303 081 at Helensburgh Central.

303 030 awaits departure from Helensburgh Central with the 14.24 to Airdrie while sister unit 303 081 sits out of service waiting for the evening peak demand.

As mentioned in the previous image 50 of the 91 class 303 started to be given heavy overhaul life extensions from late 1983 with the first refurbished set appearing in public service in June 1984. Strathclyde PTE were keen to adopt a uniform image so even unrefurbished sets were outshopped in the new Govan orange & black livery like 303 030 seen here. This distinctive colour scheme first appeared on a class 314 EMU when 314 216 was launched to the public on 23rd August 1983.

303 030 was withdrawn 2 years late in December 1987 whilst 303 081 lasted a little longer until January 1989.
