66 183 standing light engine in Kingmoor Yard. What a difference 24hrs can make.....
To be viewed in conjunction with the previous image taken exactly 24hrs earlier.
Having had sub zero temperatures getting on for two weeks the snow finally arrived in Carlisle this afternoon. 66 183 is seen in the Up Departures Sidings having worked in from Millerhill Yard at lunchtime with freight 6M51. Ordinarily the loco would then work 6K27 to Crewe Basford Hall Yard but no traffic on this occasion and none for 6C18 the return working in the morning. Instead the loco was either going to remain at Kingmoor Yard to work 6S50 back to Millerhill on Friday morning or be dragged dead in train to Warrington Arpley on 6L35 for a fuel and service.
