This 4wDM Simplex loco (MR 8788/1943) with something of a home built cab is seen in the engineers sidings at the Ffestiniog Railways Minffordd P-way Yard. The loco is now owned by the Ffestiniog Railway but was originally loaned to the FR by Colonel A.H. Campbell who owned several narrow gauge locomotives used on reconstruction of the Ffestiniog Railway. This particular locomotive he had obtained secondhand from St.Albans Sand & Gravel Co. Ltd, Smallford Works, Hertfordshire in July 1966.
