This CAR designated brake van is from the same diagram as the previous image but built to the final lot number. Lot 3394 encompassed the final 250 vehicles and entered traffic in 1961. The basic LNER design had perpetuated for 32 years but by this stage roller bearings, hydraulic buffers and through vacuum brake pipes were fitted from new.
To emphasize the inconsistency in yellow panel branding to designate "air piped" this vehicle doesn't have it but is air piped.
