Engineers train 6K07 at Restonhill, Borders Region, Scotland.

With the East Coast mainline blocked north of Berwick-upon-Tweed for four successive weekends on the trot from September 16th for track renewals the site at Reston had seven trains from various operators queued up. Here leading the pack is 66 429 working 6K07 05.25 ex Tyne Yard standing at milepost 47½ just south of Reston GSP crossovers while track panels are loaded off the down line at the trains rear. The cranes being out of sight round the corner are preceded by the cutting gangs trolley which is in view as the p-way staff cut the track into manageable lengths for loading onto the YKA 'Osprey' wagons. I don't think the chap climbing under the rear bogie was overly impressed with where I was asked to stop as he was marking panel lengths on the up line with a track paint aerosol.
