Class 92 gathering at Dollands Moor Yard, Kent.
This picture encompasses half the DB Cargo active fleet of class 92's in the UK in one image. Sadly the class as far as DB are concerned are too expensive to operate in the UK so have been reduced to the bare minimum to cater for cross Channel freight demands only. With six locos retained for the Channel Tunnel and CTRL freights it just leaves GBRFas the only operator using the class further afield in the UK.
With the days work done 92 036 and 92 011 are seen running down the Loco Loop line at Dollands Moor Yard where locos are berthed at the east end of the yard. The pair have just worked in from France with train 4443 conveying empty steel flats from Ebange to Scunthorpe. 92 015 is on hand in the yard for tunnel work as the sun rapidly sets giving long shadows. Certainly a class with an uncertain future where DB are concerned. The observant will notice 92 036 dose not even have shoe beams now so is unlikely ever to see use on the 750v DC third rail lines again.
