Yesterday night I got notified that I was awarded a runner up for the fierce competition of the card/membership of the association I am affiliated with, RPS.
The card competition is so competitive because RPS chooses one image from this competition to be printed annually on our membership card and other stationeries.
It means visibility for the winner.
To be affiliated to RPS means for me, to be amongst photographers - amateurs and professionals from all fields. I am accredited as an Associate member to this very prestigious society and I am on the process of submitting my fellowship to it. I posted about this before on FB.
This image won the second place amongst images like these:

The finalists can be seen here:

and the winners are here:

I am delighted to be on the second place. The image will be published on our november issue and I also won a beautiful print out of it.
To be competing with such talented people and such variety means to me, that my work makes sense to the world of photography, it is NOT confined to child or family photography, it surpass boundaries. This has been my journey and I knew when I did this beautiful session, that I was closing a creative cycle of 10 years. From them on, I knew that I had found a clear path on my creative journey. To be on second place at this prestigious competition, means to me, the need to continue on the path, to remain true to my ownself, to dive in, to keep going.
