Sunday review - Cookbooks

1. Nigella Bites - Pretty pictures and fonts but too little content. The book is stuffed with recipes we've seen before in the outstanding 'How to Eat'. It does have a 'let's make the most profit while we can' feel to it.

2. Nigellissima - Let´s make it clear from the beginning:this is NOT an authentic Italian cook book (get the marvellous Marcella Hazan´s book if you want THE real Italian cookbook), but is full of beautiful recipes inspired by Italian cuisine that are good looking, delicious and that will please your family and friends. Nigelissima is a very good value.

3. Nigella Express - The book is beautifully written as usual. Some of the recipes were great, but 25% of them requires a trip to the supermarket and specialist stores to stock up, so not quite as an "express" as I had hoped.

4. How to Eat - This is a brilliant book. It is one of the most useful book I have in my collection. If you are looking for an invaluable kitchen companion, then this would be my first recommendation. Read it cover to cover. Not only is it a great cookbook, but it's extremely well written.
