Tails or Heads?
There were quite a few Northern shovelers feeding near the shoreline at the Merced National Wildlife Refuge on this outing. I noticed that they almost always had their mate within 5 to 10 feet near them when they were feeding. This was one of my best efforts capturing them together in the marsh.
The weather was starting to change for the worse at the end of the day. As you can see, the wind started to pick up and weren't giving the best conditions for photography. I stayed until sunset and was able to get a few good images before the sun went down.
