Alabama Hills, CA
This area is just outside of the town of Lone Pine in the Eastern Sierras. That is the LP you see on the hillside. This area is used by Hollywood to shoot a lot of western and desert themed movies and TV shows. You can get a map that shows the areas where some major motion pictures have been shot.
If you get lucky, in the spring you can get wild flowers all over the hillsides. I'm hoping that will happen when I visit the area this spring. You can also keep driving up this road and get to the high sierras and the Muir Trail and PCT. Great place to explore.
