Dinkey Creek Bridge Collapsed
This bridge is located in the Sierra National Forest at the Dinkey Creek campground area. It used to allow foot traffic from Camp Fresno to the public campground on the opposite side of the creek. We've been coming here since my kids were born and all of us were upset to see this happen. It was a tradition to come to the bridge after the sun went down and look for shooting stars.
Our fantastic snow pack this year did in the bridge. Between the weight of the snow and the huge snow melt this year, the bridge didn't survive. This used to be the oldest standing wooden bridge in the state of California. I'm not sure what will be the future of the bridge, but it was really sad to see it destroyed this year.
