Aptos Pier Sunset (In Explore)
During a recent visit to Aptos, we had a really nice set of clouds in the sky and took advantage at sunset. The storms this winter have really affected the coast this year. The pier here was starting to fall apart from lack of maintenance, but the storms this year really tore this one apart. Only a few of the pilons near shore are left and the cement ship is now in many pieces. We love the moisture that we are getting from these storms, but a few of them have brought more water than we can handle at one time. The coastal communities near here have been really hit hard with flooding damage. Hopefully we will be out of our drought status this year and can save a lot of this water for future use.
