Florida Manatee
A few years ago, I went on a road trip to Florida with my dad. Our main goal, was to shoot the different birds in the area. We had a lot of fun doing that with a fellow flickr member guiding around on his boat. We had a day free and decided to go to a nearby wildlife refuge. For me, the highlight of the wildlife refuge was seeing this guy.
This shouldn't be an Explore picture, but every year in my class we read about manatees and I never processed these pictures. Well, we are reading about manatees again next week and I finally went deep into my backup files and found this picture. Out here in California, you can't see these creatures and the kids only get to see a drawing on their paper. Now I will be able to share this photo with them. I was using a wide angle lens and couldn't fit all of him in the picture. These guys are huge!
I always share my pictures with my students when we read about somewhere I have explored. And if you look a my flickr sight, you will see I have explored a lot of different locations in our country. I know my kids this year will appreciate me sharing this with them. Have fun clicking and sharing!
