Round Barn on Route 66
The Round Barn is located in Arcadia, OK on Route 66. The barn was built by William Odor and completed in 1898. He believed that the round shape would help the structure survive the severe weather and tornadoes that the area gets. Over the years, the barn was abandoned and fell into disrepair.
In 1998, Luke Robinson, a retired carpenter, decided to revive the barn to its original shape. He formed the over-the-hill-gang of retired Arcadia residents to complete the project. The barn restoration was completed in 1992 and is now a roadside attraction on Route 66. There is a gift shop and museum on the bottom floor and a loft that is used for community events in Arcadia. Another fun stop on Route 66.
