Killers of the Flower Moon, Pawhuska, OK
One of the unexpected benefits of our trip to the Tallgrass Prairie Preserve was going through the town of Pawhuska. You probably are asking what is so special about Pawhuska. I did. Well, right now the downtown area has been converted into a movie set for the movie, "Killers of the Flower Moon". They weren't shooting when we were in the area, but it would've been cool to see Leonardo DiCaprio or Robert De Niro on the set.
The film crew took over the downtown area and completely did a make over to the store fronts. Some were just repainted and props were put into the windows. Other business were given a new front like you see in this picture. The equipment on the sidewalk was a set of lights for the filming. I've always been a huge movie buff and this is the first time I've seen a movie location like this one.
The movie is based on a true murder that happened in this community around 100 years ago. I thought it was pretty cool that they actually shot the movie on location where the events really occurred. I know I'm going to watch this one when it comes to theaters.
