Inyo Forest View of the Sierras

Today was quite an adventure. We started our day with a drive out of Bishop up to the ancient bristle tree forest at Schulman Grove. The grove is at an elevation of 10,000 feet in the high desert. This area doesn't get much precipitation like the Sierras do in the background.

This vista view was at about 9,000 feet elevation. What an amazing hike and view you get to experience here. And this was just the beginning of the trip! The wind was howling so hard I left my hat behind in the truck. The wind chill was definitely a challenge, but it was all worth it to get to the end of this short hike. The Eastern Sierras have a lot to offer if you like to explore.
