O'Neill Forebay, CA
My daughter was visiting some friends that live in the East Bay area and I went to pick her up today. I wanted to drive a different way back and we took Highway 33 through the middle of the Central Valley of California. We were getting close to where we would have to turn east just as the sun was setting. I was worried we wouldn't find a good place to take in the sunset when we came across this location.
At first we couldn't find out how to get close to the water.
We saw cars driving around the forebay, but the gate we came to was locked. I almost gave up when we came across another gate further south that was open. It was kind of smoky tonight and it gave a nice layered look to the mountains in the distance. It turned out to be a pretty good shoot.
