Yosemite Tunnel View
This is the view you get if you drive into Yosemite from Highway 41 out of Fresno. I usually don't stop here because of all the people that are jammed into the viewing area trying to get the same picture that has been taken thousands of times already that day. But I do stop here when there is a chance to get a view, that isn't the same cookie cutter look. The view on this day was worth the stop. The snow on the trees hadn't melted and fallen to the ground yet it looked amazing to me. By next weekend, all this snow will be virtually gone from the valley rim.
There is a possibility of a couple of storms coming into the area this week and hopefully we will have the snow resupplied. I went into the valley with the goal of getting some pictures of half dome covered in snow. I had my first post get in Explore so I guess my trip was worth the effort. I know the views I was getting were pretty spectacular. I'm glad I packed my chains and made the trip up here.
