San Joaquin River Sunset (Explored)

While exploring an access point to the San Joaquin River we found this location. There is an old farm road that runs next to the river that was open to the public. We took advantage and hiked a way down the road looking for a place for a nice landscape sunset. I think we found a pretty good location.

The San Joaquin River runs through Fresno, Ca at this location. This was taken near Highway 41 which leads to Yosemite National Park. The river starts up in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range and runs into the valley. This river is one of the most endangered rivers in the USA. It used to run into the Sacramento River system and into the San Francisco Bay. Now the river runs into the Central Valley of California and dries up.

A movement began the last couple of years to get the river flowing into the ocean again. This would also allow fish to swim up its flowing water to spawn again. Our drought this year has really hurt this effort from happening. Hopefully with a wet year, we will be able to see this revival effort to have success.

Thanks for all your views and for taking the time to look at my part of the flickr world.
